David Hurtado
BA MArch (Cantab)
is a multi-national architect and filmmaker.
He has consulted for 2x4 and independently on a wide range of projects dealing with landscape and globalization in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Japan, Qatar and the United States alongside the offices of RCR Arquitectes, Frida Escobedo, Smiljan Radic, Alejandro Aravena and Herzog & de Meuron.
His short film Wine Country (2024) will be will be part of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. In 2024, he worked on the set of Focus Features’ forthcoming film Anemone and convened the symposium: Architecture and the Moving Image with keynote speaker Amie Siegel at King’s College Cambridge. His first short film Complexity & Contradiction in Architecture (2023) premiered at the British School at Rome.
His writing has appeared in The Cambridge Review of Books and The Avery Review. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Cambridge and a BA from Yale University.
