David Hurtado
BA MArch (Cantab)

is a multi-national architect and filmmaker.
    He has consulted for 2x4 and independently on a wide range of projects dealing with landscape and globalization in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Japan, Qatar and the United States alongside the offices of RCR Arquitectes, Frida Escobedo, Smiljan Radic, Alejandro Aravena and Herzog & de Meuron.
    His first short film Complexity & Contradiction in Architecture (2023) premiered at the British School at Rome and his second short, Wine Country (2024), has been preselected for the 56th edition of Visions du Réel in Nyon, Switzerland. In 2024, he worked on the set of the feature film Anemone (in production) and convened the symposium: Architecture and the Moving Image with keynote speaker Amie Siegel at King’s College Cambridge.
    His writing has appeared in The Cambridge Review of Books and The Avery ReviewHe holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Cambridge and a BA from Yale University.
